At our next play reading we will be looking at Patrick Hamilton's GASLIGHT, a sinister tale of deception. Bella and Jack Manningham are a married couple living in 1880s London, but all is not well. Bella's husband is engaging in psychological manipulation so that he can gradually drive his wife insane and steal from her. As Bella's mental health disintegrates (aided by the periodical dimming of the gaslights in their home) Jack comes ever closer to his goal. The arrival of Rough, a former detective, means that Bella at last has an ally, but will he piece together her husband's motives in time?A PDF of 'Gaslight' can be accessed here - https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/b5cf95f0/files/uploaded/Script%20-%20Gaslight.pdf
The play reading will take place from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the WI Centre, 6a Walden Road, PE29 3AZ. Facilities include a bathroom and kitchen as well as a car park.
Attendance at the play reading is free for those who have paid their £15 membership subs and costs just £2 for everyone else.
