Join us for a play party where we will be sharing our new game with our community! This is your opportunity to try out the new card game, Arguable Truths, and talk with the game creators.This event is at the Fairview Idaho Pizza in the event room. There's room for all, but pizza is limited (first come first serve. Or feel free to buy your own pizza if you arrive late or have a large group).
Our play party is open to the public, so bring a friend and invite anyone you think would enjoy our game! This is an open housestyle event, so feel free to pop in any time between 5:30 and 7:30 to start a game (we just need to be done by 8:00 pm).
We're here to introduce you to the game and teach you how to play!
Children are welcome (the game is designed for everyone 10 years old and older).

ABOUT THE GAME:
Below is some additional information about our game, Arguable Truths.
Arguable Truths is defending the indefensible and proving the unprovable. In this card-based party game, you'll be challenged to construct a creative argument to persuade your friends and family to accept the most outrageous premises. Create arguments with unabashedly absurd logic, appeal to emotion, or call into question your opponent's morality -- the sky is the limit (well, technically the limit is 3 points, but you get the idea)!
How to Play:
- Objective: Compete individually and as a team, rotating roles each round. Earn cards by winning arguments as the Presenter or objecting successfully. The player with the most cards wins.
- Setup: Shuffle Arguable Truths Deck, provide 3 Objection/Rebuttal Cards to each player, and place timer within reach.
Roles:
- Presenter: Argues in favor of a selected Premise card.
- Judge: Listens to arguments, maintains order, and provides a ruling.
- Objectors: Work as a team to counterargue against the Presenter.
Gameplay:
1. - Draw 3 Cards - Choose 1: Presenter draws 3 Arguable Truths premise cards, chooses 1 to argue, and discards the others.
2. - Preparation Time: Presenter reads the chosen premise; Judge flips timer for 30 seconds for both sides to prepare arguments.
3. - The Argument: Presenter makes a 30-second argument after preparation time.
4. - Objections!: Objectors can play Objection cards during the Presenter's argument, stopping the timer. The team can present objections, and Presenter can answer without cards.
5. - Sustain or Overrule: Judge decides to Sustain (support Objectors) or Overrule (support Presenter) after objections. Each Objector has 3 objections per round.
6. - Final Ruling: Once the 30-second round timer ends, Judge issues a final ruling on who won the argument.
Scoring:
- If the Presenter Wins: Receives Prompt card.
- If the Objectors Win: Pool of cards is created/added to. Pool distributes when the number of cards matches the number of Objectors.
- Winning Conditions: 4-5 players: first to 3 cards, 6-8 players: first to 2 cards.
- Tiebreaker: Judge decides in case of a tie.
