Join us as we immerse the littlest of readers (18 months to 4 yrs old) and their grown-up in story and play to foster their love for reading while igniting their early literacy skills. This one-hour class (9:30-10:30 am) will feature an immersive read-aloud of Denise Fleming's In the Tall, Tall Grass, followed by intentional play experiences tailored to extend the vocabulary, theme, and story content to build connections to the world. Experiences will include sensory tables, collaborative story-inspired artwork, building with blocks, light table creations, live creatures to view up close, theme related books to read together, and story retelling with felt board pieces. And if you fall in love with our story selection, you can purchase a copy to take home!
We will host this class in the party room at Run+Play Kids Cafe. After our time together, you can sign up for a two-hour play session for an additional $10 at Run+Play Kid's Cafe. Bring a lunch from home, or make it easy and order some yummy drinks and bites to eat from Bean Wandering.
