My name is Connor McDiarmid, and I am 12 years old. I am writing to you with both a heavy heart and a determined spirit. Three years ago, I lost my dear friend Blake to leukaemia when he was just 9 years old. His passing was incredibly difficult, but it has inspired me to take action in his memory.To honour Blake and to help others who are affected by this devastating disease, I have embarked on a mission to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. This organisation plays a crucial role in providing support to those affected by leukaemia and funding essential research to find a cure.
Our first Play for Blake charity match was held in 2023 which was a huge success, held at Lakelands Public School where the friendship between Blake and Connor first started.
With Connors's aim to raise $20,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation, we hope the event will be even bigger this year.
Play for Blake 2024 will be held on Sunday 22nd September at 1PM
