Have you ever wanted to write your own movie or play, but don’t know how to get started? Join Yale Drama Prize winner Neil Wechsler as he unlocks your ability to create unique characters and write the dialogue you always wanted.
This workshop will focus on each student’s creative voice and help you tell the stories that you have always wanted. Neil will help you construct dialogue and work through the process as you watch peers in the class read your lines. Through a series of questions, Neil will help you craft opening scenes that will set your play or movie on the path to completion.
ABOUT NEIL WECHSLER
Neil Wechsler is a writer, director, and story consultant in a variety of media. His play GRENADINE won the Yale Drama Award, an international prize for emerging playwrights, selected by Edward Albee and published by Yale University Press. He was the Executive Director of Against the Grain Theater Festival, an educational playwriting company in Buffalo, from 2014 to 2017. He has spoken about playwriting, literature, and film at high schools and colleges across the United States and Canada. He graduated from Yale University with distinction in Philosophy and Psychology.
