About this Event

Play Fair for Parks Rally & Preliminary Budget Hearing

📅 Date: Monday, March 17
Rally: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Preliminary Budget Hearing: 1:00 PM
📍 Location: City Hall Steps - Broadway entrance

Join Us to Demand Full Funding for NYC Parks!

New York City’s parks are essential public spaces for millions of residents, yet they continue to face severe budget cuts.

The Play Fair for Parks Coalition is rallying together to send a loud and clear message: NYC must restore and grow the Parks Department budget to ensure clean, safe, and accessible green spaces for all.

Join us at 12 PM for a rally alongside parks advocates, community leaders, and elected officials as we demand funding for:

🌳 Restoring critical NYC Parks jobs (Operations, Forestry, PEP, Capital, Public Programs, and Administration)
🌱 Protecting and expanding our urban forest and tree canopy
🛝 Investing in community programs like GreenThumb, Partnership for Parks, and the Parks Equity Initiative
🚨 Ensuring safety in our parks by restoring lost PEP and Urban Park Ranger positions

Then, Make Your Voice Heard at the Budget Hearing!

Immediately following the rally, we will head inside for the NYC Council Preliminary Budget Hearing on Parks at 1 PM. This is our chance to testify and tell decision-makers why parks deserve full funding in FY26.

📢 We need YOU to speak! If you’re interested in testifying, we’ll provide talking points and guidance.

Whether you're a park steward, community gardener, athlete, parent, or simply love your local green space, your voice matters!

RSVP Now & Show Up for NYC Parks!
