About this Event
Throwing plates can be one of the biggest challenges for potters, even those with experience. Issues like clay stress cracking, warping, and wight distribution make plates tricky, but in this workshop we'll tackle them together!
Designed for experienced potters, this class will explore two different techniques for throwing dinner plates. You'll refine your skills in both throwing and trimming, learning how to create well-balanced, beautiful plates that stand the test of time.
This 3 hour session will be hands on and full of valuable tips to improve your plate-making process.
Guiding this workshop is Arthur Emerson, a potter from English Field Pottery Studio in Maine. With his extensive background and expertise, Arthur will share valuable techniques and insights to elevate your plate-making skills.
Bring your own clay (4.5 lbs per plate recommended) and tools, and get ready for a fun experience!
Spaces are limited. Secure your spot and take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level!
