Today weโre sharing a grassroots story to warm your heart and spark your thinking. One day, two retired women visited the Washed Ashore exhibition at Turtle Bay Exploration Park, which highlighted the dangers of plastic in our environment. Inspired to take local action, they formed the Plastic Awareness Coalition. They had never done anything like this before, but felt called to a mission. They added a couple of members and connected with the Shasta County Office of Education through the California Regional Environmental Education Community (CREEC, run by CDE).
Their next event is a screening of the film Plastic People: The Hidden Crisis of Microplastics
