Celebrate community and conservation as we join forces with Beach Sweep/River Sweep efforts happening statewide during our Plastic-Free Waters Kiawah Island Sweep! Meet us at The Sandcastle to gather supplies, sign up for your sweep location and chat with sweep partners before heading out to remove litter from this beautiful island. Dress for the weather and bring a reusable water bottle (a water refill station will be available). After the sweep, enjoy refreshments and camaraderie with like-minded conservationists. All volunteers will take home a reusable canvas bag. This sweep supports Michael and Pam Wilson Plastic-Free Waters, a South Carolina Aquarium program aimed at mitigating plastic pollution through outreach, community engagement and conservation fieldwork across the state of South Carolina. Thank you to our partners: Kiawah Island Nature Program, Kiawah Island Community Association, Michael and Pam Wilson Family Foundation, Town of Kiawah Island, Kiawah Conservancy and Kiawah Island Turtle Patrol
Please note: An alternate Beach Sweep/River Sweep location leaves from Mingo Point that morning. For additional Beach Sweep/River Sweep locations, visit scseagrant.org/bsrs-sites
