Learn and apply techniques for plaster wall construction and repair in a hands-on setting at South Bend’s historic Poledor House, including how to refasten loose plaster, tape and mud cracks, and mix plaster repair materials. Over the course of two days, participants will build skills and complete common wall repairs with close guidance from Paul Hayden of Indiana Landmarks, a historic preservation expert with decades of experience in the field.
This two-part workshop lasts approximately 8 hours over the course of two days and will give attendees an up-close look at the c.1913 Poledor House, currently undergoing rehabilitation by Indiana Landmarks. One of the city’s best examples of Craftstman-style architecture, Indiana Landmarks relocated the two-story house in June 2024 to remove it from the path of planned development at its former site, 211 Marion Street.
