In eastern Georgian Bay, development impacts such as roadways and transmission lines can fragment pristine habitat, and are likely to have measurable effects on local ecology. Local First Nations, not-for-profits, and municipalities identified several habitats adjacent to development as conservation priority areas, with the turtle and plant communities as research priorities.
