Originally from the Coleraine area, Don Kerr was inspired by a Great Aunt who loved her garden. A career in Horticulture followed and college in Scotland landed him his first job as Head Gardener at a rather grand castle in Aberdeen. There were a number of jobs and locations before NI called him back 11 years ago to become Head Gardener at the Downhill Estate.
Now retired, Don is working on his own garden. He is Chairperson of the Roe Valley Gardening Society and a committee member of the Alpine Society.
He may also have some plants for sale on the day!
