About this Event

Planting For Pollinators is the third and final workshop in FED Urban Ag’s Spring Workshop Series! Join us in FED's Urban Learning Garden (in the courtyard of the Central Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library) to brush up on your gardening know-how.

Celebrate Pollinator Week at the Urban Learning Garden! In this workshop, join Abby Hyde of Satinflower Nurseries to learn how to support pollinators on southern Vancouver Island plant for pollinators.

You’ll learn:

  • What kinds of pollinators we have on southern Vancouver Island
  • Why pollinators are critical to ecological health
  • How to create a pollinator-friendly garden, including how to choose plants that support a beautiful and functional landscape

Participants will get the opportunity to explore the native plant gardens at the Urban Learning Garden and develop their native plant identification skills and will leave with a packet of native plant seeds to start their own gardens.
