Calling all community enthusiasts: it's (almost) PLANTING DAY! At 10AM on Saturday, May 24th team up with the Bread Line's Garden Manager, Peter Miller, to get your helping hands in the dirt as we plant the Stone Soup Community Garden together!
There will be tilling & turning & watering chores, weeding & planting, hanging out & enjoying Fairbanks in the beautiful springtime with friends. Planting Day is always a good time.
We're excited about establishing a NEW section of the garden as a "food forest!" Last summer, The Folk School hosted a garden bed building workshop, making eight new beds at our garden. This summer, thanks to a USDA grant through RurAL CAP, we're going to get some plants in the ground. Ask us all about this awesome community collaboration.
Gardening experience is not required - all ages & abilities welcome. Bring your own garden gloves, if possible. We've got the rest + snacks! We're going until it's done.
