Spring and summer flowers will soon bloom again in the beautiful flower beds of Goodale Park! This year we are extremely lucky that all costs of Planting Day are fully covered thanks to a generous $5,000 donation from Lucky’s Market and Casto, the developers of the new Thurber Village. The Friends of Goodale Park also extend a BIG THANK YOU to the expert landscape architects at Urban Digs Design & Garden for planning where each of those hundreds of new flowers are placed; and, of course, we know none of this can happen without the volunteers and members of the Friends of Goodale Park who are willing to get their hands dirty every spring. When local businesses are willing to invest in their community and so many volunteers are willing to contribute their labor, our incredible park reaps the amazing benefits of that powerful combination.
The new Thurber Village project on Neil Avenue includes the recently opened CVS, the soon-open 22,000 square foot Lucky’s supermarket, and 222 new apartments with parking. This project adds considerably to the vitality of our community.
Help keep Columbus, Ohio's oldest (and BEST!) city park looking beautiful. Weeding, watering, litter
pickup and more. Our 13+ gardens are 100% volunteer planted and maintained. We can't do it without
you!
Join us Saturday from 9am to noon in Goodale Park. Meet at the Caretaker's Residence in the center of the park (use Park St driveway into the park and follow until it dead-ends). Please wear weather- appropriate clothing, as we will be working outdoors.
A weather update will be posted on Facebook at 8am the morning of the event, so please check before heading to the park.
Got tools? Bring em! We have a supply of garden gloves and tools, but we always need more. Hand trowels, shovels, and clippers (non-electric, please) are always in demand.
