About this Event
Planted With Purpose celebrates the next generation of leaders, creators, and changemakers. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, storytelling, and reflection exercises that reinforce self-awareness, resilience, and goal setting. This event creates a safe, inspiring space for young women to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from mentors who have “grown through it” themselves.
The gathering emphasizes three pillars:
1. Self-Discovery: Recognizing personal strengths, values, and passions.
2. Empowerment: Building confidence, self-advocacy, and resilience.
3. Community: Connecting with peers and mentors to create a supportive network.
✨ Meet the Panelists ✨
Alexys Perry is a 19-year-old college freshman in College and a technical dancer trained in ballet, majorette, and jazz. She brings discipline, creativity, and a heart for inspiring young dancers to dream boldly and pursue their goals with confidence.
Empress Marcellus is a 16-year-old high school junior who is learning to stand firmly in her identity while navigating spaces where representation is limited. Creative, outspoken, and fearless, she uses her voice to advocate for awareness, education, and justice—especially for young Black women.
Nysia Mitchem is a 15-year-old scholar-athlete, entrepreneur, and founder of Lanae’s Beauty Bar. Balancing academics, tennis, and business ownership, she embodies resilience, ambition, and a clear vision for her future in cosmetology and entrepreneurship.
Genesis Anderson is a 17-year-old student whose radiant leadership shines through both academics and the arts. A passionate musician and self-taught pianist, she is driven by purpose, creativity, and a desire to make meaningful impact through music, scholarship, and service.
