About this Event

What to expect: It's finally fall! Join us at Chantry Flats for a very slow walk meant to work on our nature journals. Chantry Flats is an accessible area with restrooms. As we walk, we’ll dive into the basics of plant identification & nature journaling. We'll also go over traditional plant teachings. You’ll learn important identification techniques, traditional uses, but more importantly, we'll gather to meet our plantcestors as living beings with enough time to draw and observe them.

This Herb Walk is for anyone who feels drawn to reconnect with the land & nature. This walk invites you to explore amazing teachings of our plantcestors, and some of the traditions that have kept their teachings alive. You'll learn about traditional uses as well as how to identify them, all while deepening your connection to nature.

Exact meeting location sent 3 days before the event.

All levels of knowledge, ages, and dogs (on leash) are welcome. Bring an old nature journal or a new one to work on! A pen, pencill, and and even colors pencils if you wish. Bring a light snack and water as well.

Sliding Scale: Grateful to be able to bring people to meet their local plant kin! Your support is appreciated & helps keep this work going.

Level of difficulty (1-10): 4 (few uneven & steep paths but for the most part slow pace and level ground)

Parking: Please arrive extra early to find parking near the restrooms. Allow yourself 15-20 minutes to find parking. Parking can get busy on weekends.

Waitlist: Please release your ticket if you won't be able to join via Eventbrite. There's usually a waitlist to join.
