Come learn about the possible uses & health benefits of plants and 'weeds' growing at Exhibition Park!— Want to know which leaves to reach for to help stop bleeding and is also anti-microbial?
— Did you know there's a local W**d that grows commonly in lawns that you can use topically to help alleviate wasp stings and mosquito bites?
This family-friendly plant walk is geared toward anyone with an interest in learning about plants—no previous experience or knowledge needed. Free to attend.
Kids are welcome and encouraged to participate; recommended age 5+ (approximately) for ability to notice differences between plants' leaves.
With a focus on practical uses of plants (and some edible options), this walk will give you scientifically proven information about herbal medicine that you can immediately put to use at home for your or your family's well-being.
You'll likely learn about some plants that you may have in your yard, and then make new decisions about what to W**d out!
Plants to be discussed include:
- Linden tree
- Yarrow
- Cedar tree
- Dandelion
- Plantain
- Birch tree
- White pine tree
& possibly burdock, motherwort, yellow dock, and more depending on time.
