About this Event
RUFF and The City of Roseville Open Space Division are hosting a native tree planting event on Feb. 8, 2025 along a trail near Adelaide Loop and Adelaide Dr. in West Roseville.
We invite individual volunteers or groups to join us. It is a family friendly event!!
If you have a group larger than 10 volunteers, please contact us at [email protected].
The event begins at 9:00am. Try to come a little early for registration, which will be at the corner of Chico Drive and Adelaide Drive. We start with a demonstration and instructions on proper planting techniques. There are several RUFF and city staff that will be available to help if there are any questions.
If there are concerns about the weather, RUFF will contact volunteers by Friday, the day before the event. Events are cancelled when safety is an issue. If there are light showers we often go ahead with the planting event.
Tools, gloves, and masks are provided. We have light refreshments and a water cooler available for our volunteers. We suggest bringing your own water bottle, as sometimes it's a little bit of a walk from the water station to where you will be planting. We recommend wearing a mask when working with the mulch. We want to prevent breathing in any airborne spores or dust particles.
Volunteers are required to fill out waiver forms for both the City of Roseville and RUFF. You can find those forms on our website: www.rosevilletree.org. We have copies at the event as well.
Mulch is Magic! Mulch benefits your plants by smothering weeds, inviting helpful earthworms to move in, regulating the temperature of the soil, retaining moisture, providing nutrients and preventing erosion.
