Nau mai, haere mai to part one of Matua Rob Small's propagation workshop - making new plants from old!In this session you will learn about taking a range of cuttings, how to identify where to cut, how plant hormones influence rooting, and what mediums or mixes to grow your cuttings in.
Matua Rob Small has had a lifetime of experience in this field, from early days propagating and grafting grapes in commercial nurseries to overseeing the management of regional parks both in Aotearoa and overseas. Rob's expertise and matauranga on the topic is world-class, and his ability to translate this into simple understandable language is priceless. This workshop is not to be missed.
While the focus is on plants that produce food, the principles can be applied to ornamentals, perennials and even houseplants!
Note: part two of this workshop will take place on October 27th at the same time.
This session is followed immediately by our monthly woodfired pizza social event (12.30-2pm) which you are more than welcome to join for! BYO toppings and drinks, we'll provide the GF bases.
Hosted by Growing Point at Dignan St Community Garden.
