The festival is a 7-day cultural event held in Plant City during the month of January that features speakers musicians and artists. Timed to coincide with the national holiday commemorating the life of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. the Festival provides an all-inclusive setting in which citizens of every ethnic background can experience and celebrate the contributions of African Americans as the Heart and Soul of Plant City.Saturday activities include a parade through historic downtown black n brown expo live music and drumline battle of the bands.
Plant City African American Historic Trail highlights several churches former black business district Bing House Museum Marshall Middle School Plant City History Center and Black Comic Book Store.
