About this Event
*This event is open to NYU Students, Staff, and Faculty only.*
Interested in learning how to tie-dye clothing without using harmful dyes? TA Natalia will discuss the environmental impact of using dyes in the textile industry and go over ways to mitigate that impact by recycling fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers into vibrant dyes that can be used to enhance new clothing or revamp old pieces. Participants will gain an understanding of how to prepare fabrics for the dying process and maximize pigment to create sustainable fashion. You will leave with resources and recipes you can try out at home!
*This workshop is open to all current NYU student, staff, and faculty and will take place in-person at the NYU MakerSpace located in the Tandon School of Engineering on the Downtown Brooklyn campus.*
