FREE, nighttime public telescope viewing is offered monthly (weather permitting) through the Star Parties at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium. Beginning at dusk, a variety of telescopes are available to view the evening's display of stars, planets and other heavenly visuals, with expert operators on hand to answer questions and guide observations.Star Parties include a live Sky Lecture inside the Planterium's Orthwein Star Bay Theater. This program includes a discussion and observation of what could be viewed in the current month's sky - featuring constellations, planets, meteor showers and other significant astronomical events.
