Join pizza enthusiasts Jim Mirabelli of NEPA Pizza Review and Jim Henry of JimmyHank Pizza for a hands-on Pizza Masterclass inside a Lackawanna College’s professional culinary kitchen! You'll learn the art of crafting perfect pizzas at home. This course covers everything from the basics of different pizza styles, types of flour, and baker's percentages to more advanced techniques like dough fermentation, proofing, and baking. You'll dive deep into making both New York and Detroit-style pizzas, with step-by-step guidance on dough preparation, sauce making, toppings, and baking techniques, including tips for using both home and outdoor ovens.
Throughout the class, you'll enjoy live demonstrations, make your own pizza, take home awesome pizza tools and ingredients, taste delicious fresh pizzas, and have the opportunity to ask questions. The session concludes with closing remarks and a Q&A, and you can join a follow-up Zoom session 2-3 weeks later for additional insights and advice. Whether you're new to pizza-making or looking to refine your skills, this masterclass will elevate your pizza game to new heights.
Class attendees will receive a pizza equipment and ingredient swag bag that includes a Lloydpans Detroit pizza pan, Caputo flour, Hormel Cup and Char pepperoni, Corto Truly Olive Oil, an Atlas Steel ‘Frico King’ spatula, AR's Hot Honey, a custom chef's apron, and Urban Slicer dough mix, pizza sauce, and more. The cost of the class is $400 per person which includes 4 hours of instruction, follow-up zoom meeting, pizza sampling, beverages, and swag bag.
