Macy was a guest vocalist on cellist Yo Yo Ma's album Super Charm on Sony Records. Macy was the featured artist at the Taiwan Jazz Festival! Macy Chen was born in Taiwan and came to the New York in 2002 to further her studies in Jazz music. “At three years old, I was singing commercial jingles...”! Macy’s grandfather was a jazz saxophone player in Japan, and her mother, a piano teacher/player. Macy graduated from Suchow University with a bachelors degree in classical music. Macy accepted a job at Pony Canyon Records, a Japan based label. This provided an opportunity for Macy to sing as a studio singer and join numerous international concert tours. Ms Chen performed with renowned Japanese violinist Taro Hakase for his TV concert aired on “HDTV SHOW”. Macy worked as a vocal trainer and producer with Rolling Stone, Sony, Virgin, Warner Records and EMI Entertainment. Macy was the vocal producer for Elva Hsiao on her self titled debut album which is still the best seller for Virgin Records in Asia. Macy Chen's latest project involves a blending of jazz and Chinese standards sung in the Mandarin dialect.
