🎤 Pitch with Mitch: Where Your Mates Become Your Wingmates
Forget dating apps. Forget blind dates. Forget small talk.
This is Oxford’s most creative, most entertaining, and most authentic way to meet people IRL.
One stage. One projector. A crowd of single people and their friends.
And the chance for 10 people to hype their single friend in front of everyone — with PowerPoint slides, comedy, and outrageous banter. 5 men & 5 women — any orientation.
✨ How It Works
1. The Pitches.
- 10 brave souls take the stage for ~8 minutes to pitch their single friends. These are arranged and approved two weeks in advance of the event (including the powerpoint), so if you want to pitch a friend, reach out now to [email protected] to apply!
- Think: embarrassing childhood photos, hilarious fun facts, cheeky quirks, any green and red flags, their job and hobbies, “why you’d be lucky to date them” — the more creative, the better.
- Expect memes, ridiculous graphs, maybe even a pie chart or two.
- Mitch (your host) keeps the energy high and the audience engaged all night between pitches.
2. The Crowd.
- Audience votes on the best pitch of the night.
- Prizes for both the pitcher and their single friend.
- Everyone in the room gets the chance to signal interest in the singles pitched (digitally + IRL during the mixer).
3. The Mixer + Afterparty.
- After the pitches, the night flows into a party — with music, drinks, and mingling.
- Go talk to the people you just saw on stage.
- No swiping. No scripts. Just laughs, vibes, and real-life connections.
- Sober staff on duty all night!

- Entry to the show (up to 150 people in the crowd)

- Plus: everyone pitched gets a follow-up list of who is interested in getting to know them, so they can then choose to possibly reach out for a coffee, a drink, or maybe something more.

- Straight, queer, bi, everyone — all are welcome.
