In our first Science Café of the fall, recently retired Stetson Biology professor Dr. Terry Farrell will discuss the complex behaviors of pit vipers and how they interact with their local environment.

Dr. Farrell, long time biology professor at Stetson, recently retired from teaching but continues to research. He specialized his research in herpetology and is well known for his studies on pygmy rattlesnakes. His research has expanded to include invasive parasites impacting snakes, frogs, and lizards. Additionally, in Dr. Farrell's time at Stetson, he served as department chair and was awarded the John Hague Award for outstanding teaching in the College of Arts and Sciences and the William Hugh McEniry Award for outstanding teaching.
