Pistol Mounted Optic Skills teaches you the skills you need to be effective with a pistol mounted optic. The optics we are referring to are commonly called red dot sights which are electronic sights that project a colored beam of light from the emitter to the inside of the lens. Topics covered will be dot acquisition upon presentation, the draw and recovery to the holster, target focus shooting with a dot, self defense oriented grip and stance, single handed use as a applied to a handgun with a red dot optic mounted to it. Acquiring the dot from alternative positions. We also cover the advantages and complications of having a pistol with an optic mounted to it.Prerequisite. Students should have a solid understanding of how their handgun works and how to use it to include the fundamentals of shooting, loading and unloading, and use of a holster. This course is not designed for new firearms users or anyone with a very limited knowledge base of how their handgun works.

- holster; strong side hip mounted or appendix inside waistband only. No cross draw, shoulder, ankle, small of back, or pocket carry allowed.
