In the ever-evolving sustainable design and construction arena, many owners and project teams are setting their sights on a goal that seemed improbable just a short time ago: creating commercial buildings that produce as much or more energy as they consume each year, known as net zero energy (NZE) buildings.
DPR’s “Living Labs” are prime examples of how the company is helping to make NZE the new norm in sustainable design and construction, allow us the flexibility to think outside the box, discover new strategies and create intelligent, high-performing buildings for our clients. As buildings are becoming more efficient it’s imperative to consider the impact of embodied carbon as well when thinking about decarbonization. Along with the progress in Net Zero Energy across DPR’s Living Labs, learn how DPR is using in-house resources to perform Whole-building LCAs, and incorporate low-carbon materials into buildings as part of one of it’s newest office building project.
