Welcome to the Pioneer Oceania - Leaders Conference.
Preparing the church and missional communities for the future and thinking through future church is key and biblical. How do we not only survive but thrive in a rapidly changing world with AI at our fingertips? How do we explore seamless, fruitful successions and a culture of succession planning which builds in long term health, both for the church, missional communities and personally?
How prepared do we feel for the future church maybe looking different to how it looks today? What is non-negotiable for our unique callings?
Scripture is full of examples of leaders training their successors, including Jesus calling the apostles to be with him (Mark 3:13-14). Succession is a process rather than a single event. Let’s not confuse succession with retirement. There are endless possibilities! We are ALL needed!
The Pioneer conference will include time for connection and friendship especially over the meal table, (we are relational) praise and worship led by Ella and Jacob Simpson, prayer, ministry and reflection (we are charismatic) spoken words by artist and business leader, Richard Ward, TED style talks designed to inspire, challenge and equip us (we are kingdom orientated and missional) and our stories. Rick Prosser, Linda Ward and Jacob Simpson will explore various aspects of future leadership across the generations.
We are especially thrilled to be joined by Dr Patrick Dixon who is about to release his next book in September called “Life with AI – how to survive and succeed in a super-smart world.” The 28 chapters cover future AI impact in every industry, health, jobs, the workplace, cybersecurity, etc so he will help us look at future church. As well as hearing him speak, we will have the opportunity to ask him endless questions live via technology.
The conference will be based at the home of Life Church and Soul, Newcastle. 437, Hunter Street, Newcastle. NSW. 2300.
The Thursday night meal, breakfasts and lunches on Friday are Saturday are all covered in the conference costs.
The Friday night meal at a local restaurant will need to be paid for on the night in addition to the conference costs.
