Who remembers doing pinewood derby's? I know I do and they are so fun! From now until November 8th purchase your car or cars and get ready to race for the cup!!! Purchases will benefit Scouting America. The derby will be held at our downtown location on November 9th from 5-7pm. Who will be crowned the winner? We'll be doing 2 classes:1. Standard Pinewood Derby Rules:
Width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches.
Length shall not exceed 7 inches.
Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces.
Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit. Additional wheels can be purchased separately.
Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite or silicone.
The car shall not ride on any kind of spring.
The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices.
No loose materials of any kind are allowed in the car.
2. Open class (Ignore all rules and do whatever you want)
If you order your car online just choose which location where you'd want to pick it up.
This is going to be a blast and if we have a good turnout we'll look at doing more of these!
