Pink Witch

Come a long to celebrate the launch of Pink Witch- a dynamic collection of poems inspired by the 2023 movie Barbie and the Witches of Scotland Campaign. Join 12 on Friday 19th April at 7pm as they present their poems inspired by themes such as childhood nostalgia and ruminations on motherhood, Barbies and witches.

Images of witches and Barbies have been reviled, reinvented, reclaimed, reinterpreted. They are both products of patriarchy and patriarchal fantasy. They exist within and without the male gaze. Barbies and witches have been historically voiceless. In this collection, they are anything but silent. In a time when feminism feels under threat as much as ever, the poets of Pink Witch have created a powerful anthology to womanhood in all its guises – but two in particular.

12 (Spaces Open: Poems for West Port Garden) is a collective of accomplished women writers who share monthly poems in response to one another’s writing. In this collection members of 12 are joined by Janette Ayachi (Hand Over Mouth Music), Alycia Pirmohamed (Another Way to Split Water), Vik Shirley (The Continued Closure of the Blue Door)and Maria Sledmere (Cinders).

Tickets are FREE, there is also Ticket & Book option which includes a signed copy of Pink Witch by members of 12.
