Join 12 on Friday 19th April at 7pm as they present their poems inspired by themes of childhood nostalgia and ruminations on motherhood, Barbies and witches.
Images of witches and Barbies have been reviled, reinvented, reclaimed, reinterpreted. They are both products of patriarchy and patriarchal fantasy. They exist within and without the male gaze. Barbies and witches have been historically voiceless. In this collection, they are anything but silent. In a time when feminism feels under threat as much as ever, the poets of Pink Witch have created a powerful anthology to womanhood in all its guises – but two in particular.
