Pinball In The Mall presents an IFPA-sanctioned event on Friday, January 30, 2026, starting at 6:30 PM. As an official International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) tournament, this is your chance to compete for WPPR (World Pinball Player Ranking) points!Please join us—players of all skill levels are welcome. Come flip, compete, and chase the trophy! 🏆
Entry Fee: $5 + coin drop (machines range from $0.25–$1.00 per play).
Qualifying:
Target Group Match Play with 4 player groups on each machine where possible using IFPA scoring (7 / 5 / 3 / 1) and 1 game each round. Players will continue playing rounds and accumulating points until the tournament-ending condition is met: once any player reaches 36 points, qualifying ends. Qualifying standings are based on the results during the round in which a player reaches 36 points. Ties will only be resolved if needed to determine the final qualifying position(s) advancing to finals.
Timing (Estimated) ⏱️:
- Qualifying pace: 20-30 minutes per round
- Expected length: 6–7 rounds
- Time estimate for qualifying: about 2.5–3.5 hours (varies with player count and game times)
Finals: The top 16 advance (or fewer if there are fewer than 32 players) to a two-strike (**) Lenient Group Strikes final. Once a player receives two strikes (**), they are eliminated from the tournament! Strikes are awarded by group size as follows:
- 4-player groups: 3rd and 4th receive a strike
- 3-player groups: 3rd receives a strike
- 2-player groups: 2nd receives a strike
We Expect the finals to take an additional take another 2.5-3 hours to determine a winner.
Expected tournament value (TGP estimate): 📊
Qualifying is expected to be 6–7 games, which in mostly 4-player groups counts as 12–14 meaningful games toward TGP. Finals are estimated at an additional 14 meaningful games toward TGP. With 4% TGP per meaningful game, the estimate is:
- Low end: (12 + 14) = 26 meaningful games → 104% TGP
- High end: (14 + 14) = 28 meaningful games → 112% TGP
Prizes: Winner receives a trophy 🏆
Food / Drink: The arcade sells canned soda and snacks — $2 each or 2 for $3 mix-and-match. Players are also welcome to BYOB and bring snacks/food to enjoy during the event (and sharing is always appreciated!).
