Pieter de Vries ACS is a renowned documentary cinematographer, celebrated for capturing breathtaking images across diverse landscapes and environments. With a career spanning over four decades, Pieter has left his mark in nearly 186 countries, showcasing his exceptional talent with a camera in the most extraordinary settings.

From the outer reaches of space as a cinematographer for NASA to the depths of the North Atlantic Ocean, Pieter's camera has witnessed it all. He has ventured to the Galapagos Islands, where he documented the ancient land turtles, and embarked on Arctic expeditions, bringing to life the performances of Vivaldi amidst the frozen landscapes. Pieter's films have earned global recognition, with numerous accolades. His films have received prestigious awards, including Emmys and BAFTA's, solidifying his status as one of the world's leading documentary cinematographers. Pieter's expertise extends to deep-ocean cinematography, having collaborated with acclaimed director , James Cameron on the 3D IMAX feature-length theatrical documentary "Ghosts of the Abyss." He has also contributed to beloved nature documentaries presented by the esteemed Sir David Attenborough.
