About this Event
Join us for an evening of photography, storytelling, and creative inspiration with Orange County-based street photographer Zev Friedman. Known for his cinematic eye and love for candid street moments, Zev will be showcasing work from his debut photo zine, Pier People, a raw and nostalgic tribute to the characters and scenes surrounding the Huntington Beach pier.
Born and raised in Orange County, Zev’s journey into photography began after borrowing a friend’s camera five years ago—and he hasn’t put it down since. With a background in film production, working in both the Art and Lighting Departments, Zev developed a natural sense for light, composition, and visual storytelling. While his work often explores street life in unexpected places, it's the familiarity of home that gave rise to his first published project.
In this intimate gallery talk, Zev will walk us through his photographic process and share selected images from Pier People—projected and narrated in his own words. From the technical to the emotional, he'll dive into what makes each frame resonate, and how a surf session turned into a photo walk turned into a zine.
