Re-staging the historical past is everywhere from museums and schools to popular culture. But what are the risks and rewards?
Join Dr. Alana Harris of King’s College London and Dr. Amanda Nettelbeck as they discuss 'Us and Them', a collaborative community history project with UK disability theatre and media company Freewheelers.
'Us and Them' interrogated the representation of disabled people in Victorian ‘asylum’ photographs and created a dialogue between the past and the present through the production of new photographic portraits.
This History Matters event is in partnership with Australian Catholic University and the Centre for Regional Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.
Doors open 5pm
Event commences 5.30pm
