Saturday 24 May - American Animals (15)

The unbelievable but entirely true story of four friends living a routine existence in Kentucky, who brazenly attempt one of the most audacious art heists in US history. Determined to live lives that are out of the ordinary, they plan the brazen theft of some of the world’s most valuable books from the special collections room of Transylvania University Library.

Saturday 14 June - Big Eyes (12)
Tim Burton directs this biographical drama starring Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams. The film follows the story of American artist Margaret Keane (Adams), who, in the 1960s, allowed her husband Walter (Waltz) to claim credit for her artwork, believing that a female artist could not find success through painting. The Keanes acquired huge amounts of wealth through Margaret's work and the paintings were in high demand throughout their time living together as husband and wife. However, when they later became separated, Margaret announced to the world that she was in fact the true author of the paintings, sparking a long-drawn-out legal battle between her and her estranged husband.

Saturday 5 July - The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (12)
The Electrical Life of Louis Wain is a 2021 film directed by Will Sharpe. It follows the eccentric British artist Louis Wain, whose charming and imaginative cat illustrations significantly changed the public perception of cats, exploring his unique vision and experiences throughout his life.
Saturday 2 August - Basquiat (15)
In 1981, a nineteen-year-old unknown graffiti writer took the New York art world by storm - the rest is art history.
LEGGATE THEATRE OPEN FROM SEPTEMBER
Saturday 6 September - The Girl with the Pearl Earring (12)
In order to support her family, seventeen year old Griet becomes a maid in the house of Johannes Vermeer and soon attracts the master painter's attention. Although worlds apart in upbringing and social standing, Vermeer recognizes her intuitive understanding of his work and slowly draws her into his mysterious world of art and passion.

Saturday 4 October - My Left Foot (15)
The true story of the artist and writer Christy Brown (Daniel Day-Lewis) who based his autobiography on his experiences of living with cerebral palsy. It recounts the many problems he faced growing up in his native Ireland, and charts the ways in which he developed the use of his left foot - the only limb over which he had any control - to achieve success as an artist.

Saturday 1 November - Lee
The story of American photographer Lee Miller, a fashion model who became an acclaimed war correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II.
