About this Event

About the Author:

ERIN McHUGH is the author of 30 books of humor, inspiration, trivia, children’s, history, and LGBTQ topics. A former publishing industry executive, McHugh has worked for various publishers, and was Executive Vice President and Creative Partner at Franklin Spier, the publishing advertising agency. She also has enjoyed a second career as a Barnes & Noble bookseller in New York City, a judge in Barnes & Noble’s national Discover Great New Writers program, and as a book buyer back in her hometown at a luxury home store. She is an enthusiastic interviewee, tireless self-promoter, and of course, a devoted pickleballer.

About the Book:

With PICKLEBALL IS LIFE, McHugh takes readers on a journey from the sport’s quirky origins to its modern-day cult following. Along the way, vibrant 4-color illustrations share even more pickleball knowledge, including etiquette tips, a DIY court, obscure rules, and pointers for (good-natured) trash talk.

In interviews about PICKLEBALL IS LIFE, McHugh is available to discuss:

· How the pandemic helped grow the sport and changed the game’s demographics, as couples and families found getting outside and playing was one of the few things they could do, and do together. That helped spread the word!

· Tips and tricks for newbies and obsessives alike

· Her own devotion to the sport and to growing it in her own community

· McHugh always has a net, paddles, chalk and measuring tape in her trunk—so she’s not only ready for an interview, she’s ready to challenge you to a match!

People of all ages, athletic abilities, and backgrounds have fallen in love with pickleball. Sure, it’s a good workout, but it’s also a cheerful way to interact with others—something folks crave now more than ever. So, whether they’re uninitiated or obsessed, PICKLEBALL IS LIFE will help readers find even more to love about the world’s greatest sport.
