About this Event
This is the fourth workshop in our recently launched Seasonal Abundance series. Throughout this series we will be sharing skills on all things related to food growing, foraging and food processing and preserving. Although each workshop is a standalone, we expect to grow a community of people along the way who are passionate about learning new skills and applying them locally. Over time, we expect friendships to grow and ideas to take seed!
We are offering a special discount to people living within 5 miles of Hockerton, but the workshop series is of course to anyone travelling from further away as well.
This particular workshop is suitable for people with some experience of pickling or none at all. We will be harvesting some of the last-of-the-season crops that haven't ripened or are still in abundance, and making a range of pickles with them. We will explore quick and slow pickle techniques, talk about shelf life and food safety precautions, and taste some pickles we have made over the season. Expect to stretch your palate with flavours you've not tasted before!
Seasonally attuned refreshments will be provided but please eat lunch before you come!
