Bring your lawn chair and enjoy free live music with friends and family at the charming Pocket Park in downtown Dyersburg!The Kurt and Andrea Stephenson Band is a husband and wife bluegrass duo based out of Dyersburg, TN. Kurt began playing the banjo at the age of 9, receiving lessons from his father, who was also a banjo player. Kurt has won numerous banjo contests, including multiple TN state championships and the National Bluegrass Banjo Championship held in Winfield, KS in 2010. Kurt is currently a member of the Nashville based band, High Fidelity. High Fidelity is a two time nominee for "New Artist Of The Year" by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Andrea started playing the guitar at age 12. She has spent many years performing in churches, bluegrass festivals, etc. with her family bluegrass gospel band, The Nichols Family. Andrea has been a part of many bluegrass band championships over the years and is well respected as a guitarist by her peers. The couple met in 2003 in Mountain View, AR where musicians gather from all over the region to jam on the town court square. Since that first meeting, Kurt and Andrea have spent many hours playing music together and honing their skills. They bring a high energy performance with some of the best bluegrass talent in the area. You will enjoy and be blessed by their positive, up lifting style of bluegrass music.
