About this Event
Embark on an exciting 2-day journey into the world of Pi Pico W and Python programming. This introductory course is designed for beginners with no prior coding experience. You'll discover the capabilities of Pi Pico W, learn essential programming techniques, and bring your ideas to life.
This 2-day course will be held on 25 November (Monday) and 26 November (Tuesday) 2024.
Course Highlights
Day 1:
Session 1: Meet Pi Pico W and Get Started with Python
- Explore the features of Pi Pico W and set up your programming environment.
- Learn the basics of Python programming, covering variables, data types such as strings, numbers and lists, logic and program flow.
- Write your first Pi Pico W program: making an LED light blink.
Session 2: Building Interactive Projects: Traffic Light and Pedestrian Crossing Systems
- Construct a Traffic Light system using LEDs and control its sequence with Python.
- Design a Pedestrian Crossing system with buttons, LEDs, and synchronization logic.
- Experience simulating real-world scenarios and responding to user input.
Day 2:
Session 3: Building a Burglar Alarm System
- Understand the concept of a Burglar Alarm system and its components.
- Construct the circuit with a PIR motion sensor and a buzzer.
- Write Python code to detect motion and trigger an alarm.
Session 4: Enhancing Your Coding Skills with ChatGPT
- Discover the power of ChatGPT as an AI coding assistant.
- Get syntax suggestions, troubleshooting help, and programming tips.
- Interact with ChatGPT to refine your codes.
