This is a three part Workshop:
July 27th 5PM-6PM on Zoom to meet your instructor, discuss where we will be going, what you will need and what to expect.
August 3rd 12PM-2PM at Barbara Falls for the in person workshop.
August 10th 5PM-6PM on Zoom for a review and critique of what you captured.
Achieve the knowledge and skills needed to create beautiful long exposure photographs during the day. Your instructor will guide you along a 1.3 mile hike with multiple photo demonstrations showing you how to capture long exposures as well as freeze water in motion. You'll be able to capture photographs alongside your instructor who will be available to provide tips and advice on how to improve your images.
You will learn how to accomplish these shots by manipulating light intake and shutter speed while using a tripod and ND filter (minimum 8 stops).
You will need:
a camera with manual mode options
a sturdy tripod
a wide angle lens (if you have an interchangeable lens camera)
an ND filter with a minimum of 8 stops of light (I will be happy to provide you a shopping link with your proper size if you would like, every lens is different)
a shutter release (optional)

Your instructor, Heather, has been photographing a wide range of subjects for 15 years, has been teaching photography for 7 years and has been uploading helpful walkthroughs and tips to YouTube (Shutterbug 101) for the last 5 years. She has a history with film, DSLR and mirrorless cameras and while she appreciates all manufacturers, she currently prefers Sony. Her passion extends beyond photography as she throughly enjoys helping others learn more about their passion of photography, as well as living in the moment and enjoying the experience.
