Learn to Take Control of Your Digital Camera
This beginner-level class is designed to help you move beyond auto mode and start creating intentional, well-crafted images with your digital camera. Whether you're using a DSLR or mirrorless system, you'll gain a strong foundation in both the technical and creative aspects of digital photography.
FREE ADMISSION - if purchased a camera from PROCAM Ann Arbor or Livonia within 30 days prior to the class. Call the store or stop in to redeem your tickets.
What you’ll learn:
- How to use shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to control exposure
- Understanding metering modes and how your camera reads light
- How to read and interpret histograms for accurate exposure
- Focus control and depth of field techniques
- Simple composition strategies to strengthen your images
- An introduction to post-processing to enhance your photos after capture
- How to utilize your cameras different drive modes for capturing burst photography
- White balance and color correction
- The science behind digital camerasThis class combines hands-on demonstration, visual examples, and approachable instruction to help you build confidence and control with your camera. By the end, you’ll begin to understand how to make thoughtful, well-exposed photographs with consistency.
The slideshow presented during the class will afterwards be shared to attendees so you can reference the information at your own leisure.
Recommended: A digital camera with manual controls (DSLR or mirrorless).
