About the programme
Dear Dandelion is a photography exhibition at library@orchard from 16 January to 12 February 2024 which centres around the universal human experience of grief and loss. This accompanying workshop shares insight on the thoughts and processes behind planning and photographing the visuals for this series of work.
Through a facilitated activity, participants are invited to immerse themselves in the process of photographing with intention. We hope that participants may gain insights into the benefits of slowing down and grow mindful about their own process of doing photography.
Participants are encouraged to bring phones with cameras to take photographs for sharing.
About the speaker(s)
Stephanie Lee is a Singaporean documentary photographer, videographer and producer.
Photography started as a hobby during her youth and became an integral part of her after participating in a year-long Documentary and Photojournalism masterclass in Paris. Through working on her long-term project, she felt a connection with her profiles and found a sense of purpose in storytelling. Inspired by her new worldview filled with curiosity, openness and empathy, Stephanie left her banking career to pursue her aspirations.
Stephanie currently works at Rice Media, uncovering human interest stories on social issues, subculture, heritage and gender.
Drawn to topics on mental health, women’s rights, identity and culture, she uses digital and analogue photography as a medium of expression. Her works have been exhibited in Finland, Paris and Singapore.
