About this Event

Join Jake on a photo walk adventure around South Lake Union. During the photo walk, Jake will demonstrate outdoor lighting basics and how to balance an off-camera flash with ambient lighting. This will be a hands-on learning experience, so make sure to bring your camera!


WHERE TO MEET

This session will meet outside on the Deck of The Collective on the corner of Harrison St & Dexter Ave N.

Space is limited, please only register if you plan to attend.

WHAT TO BRING

A camera and lens of your choice, with a fully charged battery and a memory card.



ABOUT JAKE COLLINS:

Jake Collins is a professional photographer, educator, and product specialist for Westcott. He specializes in portrait, commercial, and event photography. Jake graduated from the Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology in 2010 with a degree in Commercial Photography. After graduating from college, Jake started as an entry-level photographer at one of the largest portrait studios in Toledo, Ohio. In a short time, Jake worked his way up and became the head photographer and Studio Manager. From there he became a corporate photographer and worked at Marathon Petroleum’s World Headquarters. Now at Westcott Jake is part of the Product Development team. You can find him testing new products for consumers, giving tech support, and traveling around the U.S. teaching customers how to use Westcott’s line of products.

We are excited for our annual PhotoFest full of presentations, workshops, and demonstrations from some of the most talented creative artists in their field, all FREE of charge.

Now in its 14th year, PhotoFest continues to exceed our wildest expectations. The three-day event includes a broad spectrum of on-location shoots, studio settings, photowalks, lectures, and product demonstrations. It gives a larger purpose to reconnect not only to our art, but to each other. Image-making and visual storytelling capture moments that are fleeting, but the relationships we build along the way endure.
