About this Event

Join the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, Southeast Chapter as we welcome Lane M. Duncan, AIA Senior Lecturer, Georgia Tech School of Architecture for a guided tour of the plaster cast collection on permanent view throughout the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University. The collection contains over 200 pieces that are part of the museum’s collection as well as part of a renewable loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City. Learn the history of the collection, and how the collection is currently used for study by artists, architects, and even medical students.

Following the tour, participants will have the opportunity to sketch the casts guided by Lane and other ICAA volunteers. There will be a focus on the principles of watercolor as a design tool but please feel free to bring your favorite sketchbook, pencils, or pens. This event is held in collaboration with the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University.

All Phoenix Flies programs adhere to current City of Atlanta health and safety guidelines. All guests, program partners, and employees must wear CDC approved masks for the duration of their visit.
