To enhance our VBS theme, "What Every Living Thing Needs," we've organized several additional activities. For the topic of "Shelter," we invite you to join us on a visit to the Phoenix Bat Cave. This cave serves as a summer home for thousands of Mexican free-tail bats, nestled within a flood control tunnel. Witness the breathtaking sight of these bats emerging for the night, sometimes in epic droves, around sunset—approximately 7:30 PM. We aim to arrive just before then. Prior to our visit, enjoy dinner at the nearby Chicago Hamburger Co., located at 3749 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85018. The Bat Cave/Flood Control Tunnel is a short 7-8 minute walk from the intersection of Camelback and 40th street, with GPS coordinates (33.5128862, -111.9971341).This event is for all ages, you don't have to be registered for vbs to participate.
