Helloooooooo everyone! 👋
We’re very happy to announce our next PPPC Photo Walk,
and this one is a little special.
Next week, we’ll be joined by Sokai Yoon,
a photographer / visual designer visiting Phnom Penh all the way from Atlanta, USA.
Bong Sokai is part of the Cambodian diaspora.
His parents survived the Khmer Rouge era, and Cambodia has always been a place he calls home
even though he grew up elsewhere.
That feeling of being in between places, cultures, memories, and time became the inspiration for this walk.
📸 Theme: “Between Moments”
— Seeing Home from In-Between —
What does home look like when you see it from the in-between?
Between where you came from and where you are now.
Between memory and the present.
Between belonging and distance.
Between day and night, movement and stillness.
As we walk from Independence Monument to the Riverside,
we’ll move through spaces that are constantly changing
and moments that usually pass unnoticed.
🔍 What to capture (no strict rules):
Transitions: walking, waiting, arriving, leaving
People in moments of pause or movement
Familiar places seen with fresh or uncertain eyes
Light changing, shadows stretching, reflections appearing
Moments that feel nostalgic, strange, or quietly meaningful
You don’t need to photograph “iconic Phnom Penh.”
Instead, photograph how the city feels when you’re somewhere in between.

Start: Independence Monument
Walk toward the Riverside during sunset
End & Hangout: Hotel KVL
At Hotel KVL, we’ll relax, hang out,
and share 3 photos per person on the projector just like last time 😉
