Description - Overview of Phlebotomy (Venepuncture) Live Blood Draws Training (Route to Competency Course)
We are proud as a training organisation to be able to deliver this course and route to competency assessment in small groups. We only allow a maximum of 4 learners to attend this course and we have limited availability. You will complete live bloods draws at our training academy in the historical Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham as this ensures our learners receive the support they require and plenty of hands on opportunity to learn this healthcare skill and to successfully complete their competency in live blood draws.
We require 3 learners to attend this course for us to be able to go ahead as this ensures that all learners have an opportunity to take live blood draws from each other. You will be required to complete a disclaimer on the day of your course consenting to have your bloods taken by your fellow learners. You can change your mind at any time on the day, but you will not be able to complete your competency however, you will be able to observe your fellow learners taking live bloods. If you do withdraw your consent the course is non-refundable as this is a requirement to attend the course at time of booking and we have limited availability.
This training course is delivered by experienced Professionals with many years of on-the-job experience in Phlebotomy and who can guide you through the practical elements of this essential healthcare skill, and answer any questions that may arise during your training.
We feel proud to be able to deliver training to smaller groups as we want to ensure learners experience a personalised and supportive training session allowing the Trainer to provide quality time and individualised support.
Venepuncture and phlebotomy go hand-in hand, so our courses cover both the puncturing of a vein (venepuncture) and the process of drawing blood from the venepuncture site (phlebotomy).
This course is for Healthcare Assistants, Senior Care Assistants, Nurses, Medical staff employed in Services and Aesthetic Practitioners where you will be required to take blood samples from individuals and have attended and successfully completed Passion4Training's Phlebotomy (Venepuncture) & Simulate Practice Theory Course.

Once you have successfully completed your Live Blood Draw(s) in compliance with our Competency Checklist you will receive an accredited Certificate of Competence.
Where the training happens - We deliver this training course at our training academy in Birmingham.
Course Duration: 1/2 Day Course including breaks.
Times: Start Time: 10:00 Finish Time: 2:30pm

You must be willing to allow fellow learners to perform live blood draws from you.
Certification: On successful completion of the course, you will be issued with an accredited Certificate of Competence (3 CPD Credits) in Live Blood Draws.
We would recommend learners to be provided with the opportunity to observe and be supported by a competent mentor within their workplace to continue practising live blood draws (phlebotomy) to develop their confidence and practical skills after attending this course.

Our training premises are located by the Jewellery Quarter Train Station which is a 5-minute walk to Hylton Street.
There are various car parks available in the Jewellery Quarter and you can download the apps Ring Go or Parkopedia which will show you available car parking and cost in the area. (Average Parking Cost is £5.50 per day)
